About me

I am a professor of psychology with a doctorate from Columbia University. I hold a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, in developmental psychology and a bachelor’s degree from UCSD in human development.

Alongside my consulting work, I maintain an active academic career teaching psychology and conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersection of mental health, physiology, and human development. This educational foundation informs a disciplined, evidence-driven approach to all professional work.

My research sits at the intersection of mental health, physiology, and human development. I am especially interested in:

The Human-Animal Bond – Emotional and physiological outcomes of pet companionship, and strategies to strengthen the bond to prevent relinquishment

Physical Activity, Work, and Depression – How movement patterns in occupational and daily life relate to mood, fatigue, and long-term mental health

Resilience and Aging – Protective psychological and biological mechanisms across the lifespan
